Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of SentinelGuide. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

1. Not legal advice

SentinelGuide provides general legal information and education about the U.S. criminal justice system. We are not a law firm, we do not provide legal advice or representation, and using SentinelGuide does not create an attorney-client relationship.

Laws, procedures and deadlines vary by jurisdiction and change over time. Always confirm anything that matters to your case with a licensed criminal defense attorney or public defender.

2. AI companion, calculators and estimates

The AI companion, eligibility calculator, bail estimator and case diagnostic produce automated, general estimates. They can be incomplete or wrong. Do not rely on them to decide whether to plead, waive rights, miss a court date or take any legal action.

Never share information with the AI companion that you would not want stored. Conversations are saved to your account so you can review them.

3. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens under your account.

You may delete saved cases at any time. We may suspend accounts that misuse the service, attempt to access other users' data, or break these Terms.

4. Case Pass purchases

The Case Pass is a one-time payment of $20 that unlocks premium features for 90 days from purchase. It does not renew automatically. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your full card details.

If you were charged in error, contact support@sentinelguide.app and we will review your request. Refunds are otherwise handled case by case, except where required by law.

5. Attorney memberships

Attorneys who join the directory buy a monthly or annual membership (Basic, Pro or Elite) that renews automatically until cancelled. Attorneys can cancel or update billing anytime from their dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Attorneys are solely responsible for the accuracy of their profiles, their licensure, and compliance with their state bar's advertising and solicitation rules. See our Attorney Directory Disclosures.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use the service to harass anyone, submit false consult requests, scrape the directory, upload unlawful content, or interfere with the platform's security or operation.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SentinelGuide is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any outcome in your legal matter, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Governing law and changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your State], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
